Hello, I’m Dr. Evelyn Burrell. I grew up in a big family with foster siblings, which taught me early how peoples lived experiences can shape how they see and interpret the world. This experience led me into psychology, and eventually into forensics, further opening my eyes to the systems around us. As a Black woman, I know how powerful it is to be seen and heard. My work helps people and organizations talk about relationships, repair misunderstandings, and build spaces where empathy and accountability can exist together. Arise Consultation and Training Services helps others understand how systems and interpersonal dynamics can be misread or misinterpreted, even when we share the same values. We also help organizations build trust, collectively. I’d love to explore how Arise could partner with your organization on upcoming trainings or speaking engagements.

I will work with you to create spaces where people feel seen, understood, and equipped with strategies to thrive. Through trauma-informed, psychologically grounded strategies, Arise helps organizations build trust, healing, and lasting change beyond surface-level DEI or leadership initiatives.

Arise has offered thought provoking trainings all over the nation. Dr. Burrell works to bring education to the communities she serves and holds free community events, offering psychoeducation and mental health resources. Dr. Burrell works to bridge the gap between mental health and diversity.
